The benefits of the online application are that you can apply in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. If you are not sure whether you are eligible, it is an easy way to find out. It's a quick and easy process and you can apply for more than one child in one go. Paper forms will no longer be accepted.

There have been some changes to eligibility - All FSM claims made on or before 31/03/2025 remain protected until the end of the child’s phase of education (year 6 or year 11). Parents do not need to reapply until children move from primary to secondary school. Children who become eligible for FSM from 01/04/2025 will be need to be rechecked on a half-termly basis.
