Welcome

I wish to extend a very warm welcome to you. I feel very proud and privileged to be head teacher here at St George’s and I hope that you will be equally proud of our school when you join our ‘school family’.

We are a proud to be a Church of England primary school.  Our school vision is 'building on firm foundations' Matthew 7:24-25.

Our aim is that everything that we do in school continually ‘builds on firm foundations’ both academically and in terms of our Christian values of LIGHTS (Love, Inclusion, Guidance, Hope, Trust and Service).

Our website gives you a glimpse of what life is like at St George’s. Please come along and see for yourselves our amazing children and staff at work. I feel confident that you will truly feel our values and ethos as you enter our school.

St George's Primary Academy thrives on the team ethos, where staff, governors and parents work closely to provide the best possible learning journey and environment for all pupils so that everyone flourishes. At St George’s we value every child and encourage them to achieve their full potential. Staff are valued, supported and challenged to be the very best they can be. Our school has Christian values which are consistently promoted by all adults and children so that our vision can be acheived. Above all, it is our aim to provide a safe, secure and caring environment for all who come here.

St George’s is a Church of England Primary Academy which is often described as 'a village school in the city'. It is located in a wonderful part of Plymouth on the Stonehouse Peninsula. The school chose to become an Academy in September 2013 and is part of St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust (M.A.T).

The school benefits from extensive grounds. Internally, the school houses 4 classes, a hall, nurture room and library. There are currently 94 children on roll across 4 classes: Tavy (Reception), Plym (Year Y1 & 2), Lynher (Y3 & 4) and Tamar (Y5 & 6). We offer one point of entry in September to all new Reception children, however parents can defer their child's place until January.

You can read our most recent 'Good' OFSTED report (January 2022) in the Ofsted section of our website.

Please feel free to contact the school office should you need additional information.
