St George's farm

At St George’s we share the importance of loving and caring for God’s world. We are passionate about the environment and animals.

At St George’s we teach children how to care for animals in our school farm. We are lucky to have animals that live at school and the children have contact with them throughout the whole year. Once children reach Tamar Class they are given responsibility to care for the animals daily during lunchtimes and break times. They keep the farm clean, feed the animals and check their welfare. We also have an animal loving staff team who care for the animals during holidays.

Our most famous resident is our school chicken called Penguin. She was hatched at St George's 5 years ago as part of Science Week and has become a special part of the team. She spends most days in Plym Class, joining in with story times and enjoying a bagel! She also often lays her egg in her basket! We also have rabbits, guinea pigs and fish in our nature garden pond.
